Many airlines sell more tickets than there are seats for passengers on the plane. A passenger who is injured as a result of this may obtain compensation from 250 to 600 euros. However, it can also negotiate additional bonuses, even increasing the attractiveness of the planned trip.

The purchased airline ticket does not guarantee that we will be taken on board for sure. It is common practice for airlines to sell more tickets than seats on the plane. So it may turn out that upon arrival at the airport, we will be checked in, but with a receipt.

Overbooking is a common practice of airlines. Some passengers resign from travel for various reasons, and overbooking allows carriers to protect themselves against loss of profits due to an empty flight. The issue of overbooking is not legally regulated, so airlines do not even have to inform their passengers about such a risk.

In the case of overbooking, it may turn out that at the check-in you will hear "We are sorry, we have a full set of passengers". That is why it is not worth waiting until the last minute with check-in and it is best to do it in advance via the Internet. In the event of overbooking, airlines are first required to find people who voluntarily cancel the flight in exchange for a ticket for another flight and compensation, usually in the form of a voucher or financial. If there are no volunteers, the carrier will have to deny boarding to some passengers and provide them with an alternative flight.

If the airline has denied boarding, the passenger has the right to care, reimbursement of the ticket price or other connection, and may also seek compensation.

Air passenger rights are governed by EC Regulation 261 and apply to carriers registered in the European Union. On this basis, airlines have certain obligations towards passengers in the event of overbooking.

The carrier should provide each passenger with written information regarding their rights. The passenger should be aware that he can expect appropriate care and compensation from the carrier. Passengers who have been denied boarding also have the right to care - the carrier is obliged to provide passengers with free meals and drinks in an amount adequate to the waiting time for the next flight.

In addition, passengers are guaranteed to make two telephone calls, teletype, fax or e-mail.

Hotel accommodation, including transport, should be provided if the waiting time exceeds one day.

Passengers can also claim compensation from airlines in connection with their refusal to let them on board, says Justyna Niebutkowska from Europ Assistance Polska in an interview with MarketNews24. Its amount depends on the flight route:
* EUR 250 for flights up to 1500 km;
* EUR 400 for flights within the EU of more than 1,500 km and between 1,500 and 3,500 km for flights outside the EU;
* EUR 600 for other flights.

How to buy cheap tickets For 1$

How to buy cheap tickets For 1 $ to Milan, for $ 3 to Oslo

For 1$ to Milan, for 3$ to Oslo

How to buy cheap tickets and outsmart low-cost airlines?

Effective booking of tickets with low-cost airlines requires cunning and patience. Some take hours, others even days. On the other side, there is an efficient system, which is often ahead of our steps, which unfortunately causes us to overpay.

It is worth outsmarting cheap airlines, because there is a good chance that we will fly to Moscow for USD 0.01, to London for USD 3, and USD 4 to Milan. Before the holidays, we advise you on how to do it on legal basis.

Low cost airlines are cheap until we start booking a ticket. When all fees are added to the price - from luggage, through taxes, airport taxes, booking fees, legroom, up to the check-in fee - it suddenly turns out that the ticket is not much cheaper than the one bought on the cruise lines. It happens that it is even more expensive, but in the pre-holiday euphoria we will not even check it, because the initial PLN 39 or 15 will tempt us.

Racial seekers of cheap tickets know how to save up to several hundred zlotys when booking a ticket. They have ways to fly abroad several times a year, spending pennies on it. However, it requires perseverance, cleverness and discipline.

Try several times
I go to the low cost website and search for a flight from Warsaw to Madrid. The price is displayed, for example, USD 150, I click on this flight and in the same second the flight is more expensive by several dozen zlotys. It is not a booking fee, because I have not chosen any option yet and I have "USD 0" as the booking fee. This is a trap that people who use low-cost airlines often find themselves caught.

In scheduled lines, you can click on a flight several times for several days and nothing will change. In cheap airlines, the low price catches the eye and we quickly start booking. We rarely notice that something changes. So what to do to make the ticket still cost USD 150? First, you need to search for the flight again. Re-entry to the site also usually helps. You can also wait several minutes. If the price is still going up, check your flight in a few hours or do it the next day. Often the option to switch to the other lines page for a while also works.

W " time of booking

Ticket prices on low cost airlines' websites can change even several times a day. Therefore, it is very important what time we check them. Prices keep jumping just before the weekend, because it is known that then fewer people work, so more time to plan trips and book flights. The departments responsible for airline ticket prices in airline companies are also closed on weekends. Ticket prices also go up in the evening for the same reason.

Two years ago, ticket prices were definitely cheaper at night. According to specialists, currently the best promotions happen during the day, so it's best to look for them from 8 am to 6 pm. This is of course the job for the persistent. "Sometimes promotional tickets will be released on Monday at 1pm and sometimes on Friday at 6:30 pm," explains Hubert Olender of Fly4Free.

There is no rule here, so it's worth checking ticket prices several times a day and just chatting for the occasion. One thing is certain: "The more time we spend looking for a ticket, the better price we get," emphasizes Olender.

Don't give away the date
While the best time to book a ticket cannot be specified, there is a rule for choosing the date. If we want to buy a cheap ticket, do not enter the exact date in the search engine. In 90 percent. cases, the ticket will "jump", because since we give the date, we are theoretically determined for it. A great solution is to enter the date even two weeks earlier and click "further" until we get to the one that interests us.

This problem does not exist if the airlines display a monthly flight calendar. However, the vast majority of low-cost airlines display the three or four closest dates of the flight they are searching for on their website.

Of course, if the price jumps at the time of clicking, we run the system to search again, click again, and so on, until we fall past the page. If it locks up at a high price, you can of course try to check the flight from a different computer.

Last minute login. In front of the

camera in front of the reins. A well-known reporter became a Boeing pilot.
Most airlines require logging in to the personal user account of a given portal. According to some purebred ticket seekers, logging in before entering the date also affects the price of tickets, because the airline's website remembers the most frequently chosen destinations. Therefore, it is best to log in only at the last required moment.

Booking multiple tickets
Some airlines have an option displayed on how many tickets of the cheaper option are left. For example, if we need five tickets, and it is displayed that three tickets are left for USD 40, and the rest cost USD 70, then we can be sure that all tickets will be charged to us at a higher price. - It's best to break the deal in two. Book three tickets in the cheaper option and five in the normal option. Then we can be sure that no one will raise the price - suggests Olender.

The solution is also to check the flight in a day or two, when more tickets are unlocked in the cheaper option.

Privilege cards
We have two of the largest low-cost carriers in Poland: Ryanair and Wizzair. Airlines offer special credit cards with which you can minimize ticket prices while avoiding booking fees. In the case of Ryanair, it is USD 25.50 for each passenger for each section of the journey, in the case of Wizzair it is USD 27.

It is not difficult to calculate that in the case of two people, an additional USD 100 is charged for a return flight. Ryanair offers a Mastercard PrePaid that anyone can have, but requires a pre-transfer. For Wizzair, this is a Mastercard credit card, so the applicant must have a steady income.

By plane, train or coach - the fastest and cheapest way to get home?
Of course, there is an option to borrow a card from friends or family. The most profitable option is to buy such a card for a company, because you can pay with it without restrictions. Internet users on various forums related to flying also offer help with payments. It also pays off for them, because for each booked flight you get points that can be used, for example, for the next booking.

- It is really profitable, because if we have a change, it turns out that suddenly the ticket costs as much as a scheduled flight - observes Hubert Olender. It's just that on the cruise lines we have luggage and usually a meal included in the price.

Addicted to flying
For those addicted to flying and traveling, of course, we recommend chatting for all discounts and promotions on the low cost airlines' websites. There is no shortage of them and they are definitely profitable.

- The cheapest tickets I remember were the flights for 1 usd to Malta sold by Ryanair in 2022. Now there are also such promotions. Wizzair has just sold tickets from Warsaw to Stavanger in Norway for USD 8 return. You could also fly to Budapest for 8 usd, to Oslo - Torp for 3 usd, or from Katowice to Milan for 4 usd - lists Olender. - Ryanair recently had a special promotion. For two hours it was possible to buy tickets from Krakow to Budapest for USD 0.01 - he adds.

One thing is certain: if you dream of cheap flights around the world, it is worth spending some time and cleverness on the search.

Choosing flight 13

Choosing flight 13

Unlucky thirteen? or rather a cheap flight?

You can also save a lot by choosing to fly on the 13th of any month. This is especially true in Anglo-Saxon countries, whose inhabitants are famous for their superstitions.

Price reductions can reach 15-20%, because passengers prefer to choose a different travel date.

You can keep even more money in your pocket when flying on Friday the 13th .
Unfortunately, these reductions are more pronounced for flights to or from the USA, England, sometimes also France, Australia and various other former colonial countries. The effect of the "unlucky thirteen" is virtually imperceptible for flights within Europe.

Aircraft seat occupancy is generally low on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks. All those who do not believe in the possibility of repeating such a scenario have a chance to book a flight at a really low price.

The above methods do not exhaust all possibilities and are only general suggestions for globetrotters planning long journeys well in advance. If you have your own proven ways and would like to share them, we will be happy to supplement our knowledge and develop this article - we look forward to your comments and opinions on cheap flying and creative ways to get cheap air tickets.

Cheap ticket in 10 ways

Ways to get cheap airline tickets

You can also search for cheap airline tickets in a unique way - for example on Friday the 13th or on Wikipedia. The use of non-stereotypical methods takes some time, but saves a lot. Along with the previously published guides: The 10 Commandments of Cheap Flights and Original Ways to Get Cheap Airfares, this article creates a compendium of knowledge for every hunter of cheap airline tickets.

1. Hotline
The hotline or telephone customer service office will dispel your doubts in almost every matter. Did you know that last year the low-cost carrier flew on the route you are interested in, and this year you cannot find information about its plans? It is the hotline consultants who can have the latest information about the carrier's intentions. It may turn out, for example, that it is better to wait a few more weeks with the purchase, because you can save a lot, especially on popular holiday or winter routes.

2. Wikipedia
On Wikipedia, almost every international airport has its own article, where among many other useful information you can find a list of airlines serving a given airport and a network of direct connections. It is a great source of knowledge about the airport's offer, and the well-organized international Wikipedia community takes care of keeping the data up-to-date. Unfortunately, sometimes the Polish version of airport websites is underdeveloped, but their English counterparts are really comprehensive and reliable, and using them, even for people with little knowledge of this language, should not be a problem.

3. RTW
RTW stands for "Round the world". It is a bundle of several tickets sold most often by airline alliances (Star Alliance, Oneworld and Sky Team). Such a ticket is rather expensive, but it is a great alternative for experienced travelers who plan a long route. The only restrictions for ticket holders are: free seats on the selected flights, the total number of kilometers that can be covered on the ticket, and the number of stops along the way. RTW tickets are also a good option for tourists who choose their destinations spontaneously, because the next stops do not have to be defined in a rigid way. More about RTW tickets can be found on Wikitravel. In Europe, it's best to buy an RTW ticket in England and choose London as the departure airport. Sometimes additional discounts can be obtained, using the student status or Euro <26 card. Some airlines also earn points in loyalty programs, also for flights on RTW tickets.

4. Sightseeing during a transfer
The offer of visiting during a transfer applies to long-distance flights as well as combined and multi-section connections. When flying by plane with a change in a given city, we reserve a few additional hours or days to explore it. Depending on your budget, you can stay at a hotel in a transfer city and get to know it better for a few days, or visit some of the must-see spots for a few hours between flights. It is often an additional bonus for a longer journey, and sometimes even an argument that determines the choice of a specific connection. An over 24-hour break in a city between flights is called "stop over" - always when booking a ticket you should find out if and on what terms the airline allows such stops.

5. Discounts and bonuses, loyalty programs
Most airlines reward regular customers. It awards them with special discounts and even free flights - usually as part of special loyalty programs. This offer is primarily for businessmen and companies, because rarely any private person travels frequently enough by air to collect money for a free flight. However, if you often use the one-line offer, collecting points will definitely pay off. The most popular frequent flyer bonuses are priority check-in, priority boarding, use of special lounges at airports, vouchers for a certain amount, travel in a higher class, increased baggage allowance and, of course - free airline tickets.

6. Traditional airlines
Traditional carriers also have interesting prices. They mainly concern: longer routes, less popular destinations, flights booked at the last minute in the event of an emergency, as well as situations when we take a lot or unusual luggage with us (prams, musical instruments or sports equipment). Traditional airlines are also getting cheaper as a result of fierce competition from low-cost carriers. Therefore, they keep offering new promotions and sales. Traditional airlines focus on the quality of service and no additional fees for everything that is included in the price lists of low-cost airlines. In addition, in traditional airlines, certain groups of passengers, such as children or the elderly, can count on special treatment and discounts.

7. Unlucky thirteen
You can also save a lot by choosing to fly on the 13th of any month. This is especially true in Anglo-Saxon countries, whose inhabitants are famous for their superstitions. Price reductions can reach 15-20%, because passengers prefer to choose a different travel date. You can keep even more money in your pocket when flying on Friday 13. Unfortunately, these reductions are more pronounced for flights to or from the USA, England, sometimes also France, Australia and various other former colonial countries. The effect of the "unlucky thirteen" is virtually imperceptible for flights within Europe.

The 10 Commandments of the Traveler

The 10 Commandments of the Traveler

Experienced travelers know that solid research, light luggage and fun along the way are the basis of a successful trip. However, to become a true travel pro, it is not enough to master these few tricks. This is mainly due to your attitude during the trip.

1. Let your curiosity determine the direction of your journey.
The best deals come to those who can be a bit flexible in their travel plans. You probably already know how much you can save by flying at less popular times: early in the morning, during the week or in the middle of the night. Since you do not have to stick to strict dates, why not be a bit more flexible in choosing the direction of your trip? There are so many places to see in the world that the travel ideas seem endless. Why is it sometimes worth letting yourself be guided by pure curiosity? Define your budget for your next trip, set it in KAYAK Explore and see where you can go in this price range. Think of it as a game where you win every time.

2. During your trip, do what the locals do ...
Get off the beaten track and see the places you visit through the eyes of the locals, get off the beaten track and see the places you visit through the eyes of the locals.
Traveling is about more than just visiting monuments. Sure, you must see the Eiffel Tower during your stay in Paris, but even more so, it is worth strolling lazily along the Parisian streets, stumbling upon a hidden bistro and drinking a glass of wine away from the tourist bustle.

3.… but don't forget, being a tourist can be fun too.
Seeking authentic experiences is important, but that doesn't mean you should avoid touristy places at all costs. This is the easiest way to miss some really interesting attractions in the place you are visiting. The Louvre may be full of guided tours, but it's not that popular for nothing. The interweaving of the trip with classic activities and things known only to the locals is a guarantee that you will get the best out of both worlds.

4. Be prepared (but don't go overboard).
Spontaneity is great, but you know what's even cooler? Knowing a few words in the local language before your arrival, thanks to which you will be able to conduct the simplest conversations (and gain the sympathy of the locals) there. Even if you're planning a last minute trip, quick research will definitely pay off. Not sure where to start? Just a few of the most common sentences, the most important information about the local currency or the most basic knowledge about local public transport will make a big difference.

While planning top attractions and a list of places to visit are important, leave some space for recommendations from locals and things you will learn about when you are there.

5. Keep an eye on your expenses.
Set your budget and try to stick to it. For even really little money, you can finance the journey of a lifetime, if you spend it wisely. Ask the locals for recommendations for cheap eats, street food (which is often tastier and more authentic than food served in restaurants) and the best happy hour spots. Find cheap, preferably free attractions - such as free city tours or free museum days - or simply take a long walk in the area yourself.

Have you ever gone over the limit? Give it up - you're on vacation after all, and if you can go a little crazy, it's worth doing it right now.

6. Remember that not everything will turn out 100% during the trip.
When traveling, few things are as certain as the fact that something will definitely go wrong. Eventually, you will also experience a flight delay, food poisoning, mistaken trains or smashing your phone while trying to take the perfect photo. But don't let these little setbacks spoil your trip. Wave your hand at it, treat it with humor and just focus on finding a solution to this problem.

Remember how lucky you are to travel and how fleeting these experiences are. There is no point in worrying about just small things!

7. Always read fine print.
The fine print attached to airline tickets, overnight reservations, car rental contracts, or credit card terms may seem completely unnecessary, but it is in fact full of useful information for any traveler.

You don't even know how many benefits can be derived from these tiny words. The airline's rules of carriage define the rules for the payment of compensation in the event of a delay or cancellation of a flight. On the other hand, from a bank payment card agreement, you may find that your loan offers benefits that you did not know before, including car rental insurance and bonus miles.

8. Be here and now.
Take lots of photos. You will thank yourself in old age for the opportunity to remember your travels. On the other hand, don't take photos all the time or you'll miss the best of travel. Uploading photos to Instagram or Snapchat is very easy, but it can also distract you from your travels. How to find the golden mean? Just stay away from Wi-Fi until you return to your hotel and only then start catching up on the internet.

9. Get carried away…
Traveling is a great way to get out of your comfort zone. Traveling is a great way to get out of your comfort zone.
Get out of your comfort zone. Let the journey engage all your senses. If the place you are visiting is known for its music, go to a concert. Do the locals tell you about a must-try dish? Ask where you will get them in the tastiest form. Are you going to Bangkok? Everyone knows that Thai street food is a local "must". Only the locals will show you where you can get the best pad thai or - if you are brave enough - fried insects (what distinguishes one seller from another are spices, and the locals definitely have their favorites).

uuuu 10.  ... and visit the whole world.
Don't look for excuses, just go discover the world! Don't look for excuses, just go discover the world!
It is easy to find a reason why you should not do something. Are you holding back the cost of the trip or a calendar overloaded with other important events? Postponing your trip until you have more money or free time may seem like a good excuse, but there is a whole world to discover, and there will never be a better time than now. Check where professional travelers will go in 2018, take advantage of our ways to find a cheap flight and go ahead, even if it's just a long weekend.

10 tips to help you find the cheapest airline tickets

10 tips to help you find the cheapest airline tickets

How do I do it? We compare the offers of many airlines on hundreds of booking sites to bring you the best prices and deals of the day.
To be able to offer lower prices, low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air simplified the way they calculate ticket prices long before most airlines started doing so. However, not all airlines calculate ticket prices the same. Attention! sometimes a bargain does not mean a cheap flight, you need to read the flight contracts and conditions well. We do it and deliver selected offers.

Firstly The less time until departure, the more expensive the airline tickets are. Why?
Because airlines discovered some time ago that business travelers tend to organize last minute meetings and are therefore the least flexible. A well-organized holidaymaker can turn this attitude of airlines towards a business client to his advantage.

Solution:   To find your flight tickets at the best price, start searching for your flight on KAYAK 21 days or more in advance. The next moment worth trying is 14 days or more.

Secondly:  Remember! Traveling in the middle of the week (Tuesday or Wednesday) is usually cheaper than Monday or Thursday or Friday: businessmen, consultants, politicians love to start their journeys on Monday morning and return on Thursdays. That is ? The best time to get a cheap ticket is SATURDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY and SUNDAY  (early morning and late night is the cheapest)

note:   flexibility in rescheduling the date of travel to another day can significantly reduce the prices of air tickets.

Tip: So the next time you search on KAYAK, choose flexible dates. You will probably find that flying on Saturday is cheaper (though not that big on international flights).

Tip Three: When searching for cheap airline flights, set the search engine correctly.
Select the time of day "Any" in the search engine and use the search results filtering options to increase the chance of finding cheaper flights. Best travel dates vary depending on the flight route (early mornings and late night are good for tourist destinations, and mid-day is usually best on business routes).

Hint: The most important thing is the correct timing. The key to getting the best flight prices is to travel when others can't.

Fourthly:  Don't travel when everyone else is doing it. Don't go to Disneyland or Rome on vacation or long weekends. Not only will the flights be cheaper, but the queues will also be much shorter.

Fifth: Avoid the peak holiday season. This happens every year, seasonality.

Sixth: Take a flight on Christmas day, when everyone is in place (and then the cabin crew are extremely nice).

Seventh:  Remember the Location. It is very important where your plane lands!
Remember that most low-cost airlines use alternative airports(such as Stansted or Gatwick instead of Heathrow) and now what you save on flights, you often have to spend commuting from that remote airport to your final destination.

Eighth: The  flyer you get off on. At less crowded airports, you can appreciate such advantages as less traffic, cheaper car rentals or fewer people in airport bars.

tip: For every flight search on KAYAK, we can automatically show you prices for flights from nearby airports.

5:00  pm it is imperative to apply for compensation. It costs you nothing. Report a problem
